<p>So although the rain was coming down heavy in Sydney last Saturday morning I was out with the missus looking in hardware stores checking on the details of a potential Kitchen renovation – and at one of the hardware stores I spied one of the regular “Tradies” Calendars being given away by the hardware store.</p>
<p><span id="more-10"></span></p>
<p><a href="http://techagility.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/image.png"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 2px 0px 5px 10px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: right; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="image" border="0" alt="image" align="right" src="http://techagility.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/image_thumb.png" width="659" height="471" /></a>Now it wasn’t anything risqué it was actually a shot of&#160; some Yachts racing under spinnaker offshore – but I recognised the shot instantly because I was actually there at the time – it was at the Kenwood Cup in Hawaii in 1988 where the Maxi World Championships were also being held.</p>
<p>I was racing on Ondine VII which in this photo is third in line with the blue/red/white spinnaker right behind Sorcery and Il Morro de Venzia and just ahead of Matador on one of the downwind legs. </p>
<p>So I mentioned this to the missus – and all I got was “Hah – go and prove it!” <img style="border-bottom-style: none; border-left-style: none; border-top-style: none; border-right-style: none" class="wlEmoticon wlEmoticon-winkingsmile" alt="Winking smile" src="http://www.techagility.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/wlEmoticon-winkingsmile.png" /></p>
<p>So some digging later that afternoon turned up the original VHS tape that I still had from this event – so that’s now in the process of getting converted to DVD because we haven’t owned a VHS video unit for the best part of a decade by now</p>
<p>Still – here’s the original VHS cover – and you can just make out it’s from the same time and place (Yachts still in the same order) but just from a different angle.</p>
<p><a href="http://techagility.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/image1.png"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 2px 10px 5px 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: left; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="image" border="0" alt="image" align="left" src="http://techagility.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/image_thumb1.png" width="231" height="399" /></a><a href="http://www.techagility.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/image2.png"><img style="background-image: none; border-right-width: 0px; margin: 2px 0px 5px 10px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; float: right; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="image" border="0" alt="image" align="right" src="http://www.techagility.info/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/image_thumb2.png" width="430" height="639" /></a></p>
<p>And some further research turned up the photo at right from <a href="http://www.kospictures.com/"><u><strong>Kos Picture Source</strong></u></a> so now I’m just waiting to hear back from them about getting a quality shot.</p>
<p>It definitely won’t make the Kitchen – but it’s odds on favourite to make it to the Study.</p>
